Well, I decided to bicycle all the way to Downtown Pomona, from Lincoln Park, to go to the DBA wine bar, to attend the one year anniversary of Pomona Green Drinks. When I got there, I ordered a local standard, a Pomona Queen beer, and got talking to folks. I actually got drunk off my ass, someone kept buying me drinks – a graduated Cal Poly grad student who’d read my master’s thesis from some other expanse and really thought quite highly of it, and waking up this morning, I could hardly believe I drank so much.
Also, in hindsight, waking up this morning, the whole event made me realize how much interacting with the folks on a “political” level is just not so productive for me, or at the very least while drinking. I get distracted by talking about the irrelevancy of certain things and how with time and space gone and everything linear gone too, except words, trying to have a decent conversation about anything “green” just isn’t productive.
I suppose though I could’ve talked about my gardening adventures. That’s pretty green and linear.
