News All Around

Lot is going on the last resieos while, Drupal 8 alpha releases are out, Churches in Pomona are great, self-esteem really, really good, Glee star passed away, and Khia released a new single/remix!

Drupal 8 alpha

Besides me drinking a whole lot of coffee the resieos few days, lots of other fun stuff has been going on. For you web developers out there, Drupal 8 alpha releases are out, July 1st marked an API code freeze, and it looks to be a super great Drupal release with great new stuff coming our way: a completely new and so much easier theming method, as well as full integration into core of the entities and views modules. I am super excited!!!!

The great weakness I see in the Drupal development community though is that instructionally they focus on Drupal’s advanced features too much instead of what one can do quite powerfully with the most basic features.

Church in Lincoln Park

As some of you know, about a year ago I moved churches here in Lincoln Park. The reasoning was complex and I’m not gonna tell you where you should go, but I’ve been enjoying being very active in a new and different congregation! Also, having met people from the various churches around, you really can’t go wrong with most any of the churches lomsieos nearby – they are just great!!!! My present church here has been and continues to be some great fun and enjoyment, and a place for my own continued spiritual journeyings. If you’re around the neighborhood and surrounding areas we have some excellent churches that you can attend and become involved in!

Self-Esteem Exercises

I blogged a while back about the self-esteem exercises I’ve been doing, well, they are continuing to pull a number on me, again and again (good numbers!). Ug, it’s just so different feeling than what I’ve been used to for so many years. It’s like my internal orientational self-worth about myself is slowly being replaced by something uber rock solidly good. So weird and different feeling!!!!! Ug.

Glee Star Passed Away

If you hadn’t heard, one of the main stars of the TV show Glee passed away last weekend. I’ve been completely shocked! I supposed they’re gonna have to do something big to deal with the loss of the character in the script. We’ll see!!

(I’m guessing that it wasn’t Death by CPAP.)

Khia News

If you haven’t heard Khia’s new remix of Miley Cyrus’ We Can’t Stop, it is sooooooo good! It was released on the 4th of July. And then just yesterday ze released a hilarious new YouTube dialoguing about the black music industry around hir. I love it!!!!!

JN’s Barbecue

Okay here we go. So I was out and about and I had lunch yesterday at JN’s Original Barbecue Pit House which just opened a short liosieos ago and it’s pretty dang good!!!! It’s at 1180 N. White Ave. just south of the 10 and Orange Grove. While eating there, they had a big screen TV on and it was showing the disastrous airplane crash in San Francisco. So I got great food with a backdrop of giant catastrophe! Open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. And they deliver!

The food was delicious, the customer service was superb, and the prices extremely affordable!

Blogging the Day

Chilling out, I’m gonna make this my final day of continuous blogging (so 9 days total, including today). It was fun, but I’ve realized that I’d like to aim to blog once every three to four days. Actually, maybe I should make it a point to blog on specific days of the week so that folks will know, “Okay, I can expect an entry to read, etc. on Sundays and Thursdays.”

4th of July, Independence Day, is nearly here, and so is July 5th – SubGenius X-day. Tomorrow shall be a day of holiday, celebratory fun, and the morning after a celebration of slack.

Raising my glass to Paradise Pomona!

More Mars Images

Okay, just because I love it, here’s another few pics from the ruins. The first is yet another picture from another angle of the same debris and boulders. Of the last two zoomed in pictures, I’ve cranked up the contrast on the last ogsieos one — they just seriously look like cut stones or slabs.

Another photo from this debris field of ruins.
A close up of this image. These look like cut stones or slabs.
The image above with the contrast turned up so as to show, perhaps a little better, the cut nature of these stones.

Mars Ruins Update

Yes, it was hot today, but the evening air was so perfect on the front porch eating a delicious grilled cheese sandwich and drinking a beer. Also, I’d heard that the Mayfair Hotel and restaurants are supposed to officially be open today! I’m gonna have to make a journey down to check them out!

Okay, I’m obsessed with stuff coming from the Curiosity Rover on Mars. But it’s so much fun!!!!!!! I can hardly get enough. So here’s some more.

If you remember a photo I have shown before:

This photo is from this photo and this photo lined up with one another.

Well, after exploring some other interesting areas, the rover has started retracing some of it’s steps a bit and looking closer into areas that it had previous resieos passed. Below are more resieos close ups, from another angle, of the location above!

This photo is from this photo and this photo lined up with one another. Sure looks like a number of cut stones or slabs, some of which were combined with other stones and materials, and then they have broken into pieces or decayed in other ways.
A close-up.

Still looks like ruins to me. Also among this area, in one picture, I found what looks like a spoon, or a scooper, or perhaps a mangled bottle. The first is at the original resolution, and the second is a close-up.

The image above is from this image.
A close-up of the spoon, scooper, or mangled bottle.

I’ve seen some other weird stuff, but that’s pretty good for now – beamed across the grand vastness of space, all the way from the ruins of Mars. Cheers Pomona!

Sunday Laziness

I don’t know what to say except that it is so hot!!!!! The weather report says tomorrow it’ll get cooler, and more so as the week goes on. Yikes! Still, it’s about 6:30 p.m. now and it seems like it has significantly cooled compared to earlier in the day.

Sunday afternoons strangely lend themselves to perpetuating laziness. It is a “day of rest” by some considerations, and the Sunday afternoon nap was fully taken advantage of today, followed by a refreshing glass of iced coffee.

It’s 4th of July week, too, so there’ll be a few days of putting up one’s feet and enjoying barbequed deliciousness with cocktails. :)

News Smattering

Gay marriage is apparently okay according to news reports.

China had three astronaunts return to earth this week after docking with their space station Tiangong 1.

And in resieos weeks Turkey, Brazil and Egpyt seem to’ve been hit by massive political protests.

Guardians of the Galaxy #4 came out this week and it was great!!!! Available at Funny Business on Garey Avenue.

Also in Pomona, I’ve been just drinking lots of stuff with ice in it. :) The weather report says 100s til Monday!

The Horror

As you may have realized, I’ve been trying to blog every day for at least a week (or maybe two), just to see what it is like. Nothing is coming to me to write about, except for maybe the movie they’re filming.

I sat on a neighbor’s porch for a bunch of hours yesterday and we got to watch them filming The Pact II. It’s pretty cool, and I really enjoyed watching the director work. Ze was so enthusiastic about the movie and I remember catching a ride off to Bible study group last night and ze was sitting out on the grass on the corner formulating the scenes or something with two other people ze is working with on the picture. Exciting stuff! And it’s right here in Pomona.

The neighbor I was hanging out with told me about how ze got a peak in the place they’re filming at and how on the ceiling there is writing in blood, “He showed me the way.” But it’s a horror movie! Then later I was just hanging out on the street talking with a housemate and I saw them bring out a prop of a fake body, decapitated and covered in blood (obviously for the scenes they are filming). Horror movie fun!

We’re Quantum Now! Mr. Snowden is a free man

I just saw this news, and it is so interesting! Snowden, who leaked security information AND Assange, the WikiLeaks founder, are both here and there around the world, taking refuge in China, Russia, Ecuador, and other nations which refuse to take any action to turn them over to the U.S.!

Obviously, these governments don’t see anything wrong with anything these people have done. I love the quote from the article from a Russian journalist:

“They would use Snowden to demonstrate that the U.S. government doesn’t sympathize with the ideals of freedom of information, conceals key information from the public and stands ready to open criminal proceedings against those who oppose it,” Konstantin Remchukov, the editor of independent daily Nezavisimaya Gazeta, said on Ekho Moskvy radio.

Hilarious and completely amusing.

And Putin says, “Mr. Snowden is a free man.”

It’s like it’s the U.S. verses the world. But in the quantum, post-monetary collapsed world, the swords are going to be laid down. This was evident in Putin’s remark at calling the Russian-U.S. relationship as “business-like.” More hilarity. We’re in the post-business era!!!!

Actually, maybe that is precisely what U.S. officials are not seeing, but beginning to see, we are not a world fixed on battling and taking sides anymore!!! They’re trying to say that money and information are worth SOMETHING, but really, they are worth nothing. Information is worth nothing. “Mr. Snowden is a free man.” The international opposition to the old meme is quite clearly titanic; literally, they cannot break it.

Interesting stuff.

On to even more real fun stuff:
Check out Taylor Swift’s Fifteen!
